“Love Lockdown” by Kanye West
I’ve really grown to love this album. I was pretty reluctant about all the autotune at first, but I after listening to it many times over it (Not to mention hearing the trainwreck of him singing on SNL without autotune) I now really like the idea of a slightly robotic voice singing about heartbreak. Plus, despite all the attention to the singing, the beats are still fantastisc(those drums!) This album doesn’t sound like any other Kanye’s done, and he will probably lose some fans over it, but it’s big, it’s heartfelt and it’s funky.
Plus I’m just a sucker for “break up albums” or any work of art that is entirely a response to just one trauma.
