Last week I attended the wedding reception of my adopted aunts, Cathy and Gerri. These wonderful ladies are old nursing buddies of my mom’s when she lived in San Francisco in the early 1970’s. They have been a couple for over 30 years and were married over Labor Day weekend in Provincetown.
It was an absolutely beautiful evening (which my parents flew up to attend) and makes me feel incredibly fortunate to live in one of the three states that allow people to marry each other regardless of their gender. I challenge anyone to look me in the eye with a straight face and tell me that two people who love each other as much as they do shouldn’t be allowed the same rights as anyone else.
I took a few other photos of the reception as well as the day trip me and my folks took to Marblehead the next day. Check them out on flickr.
