I know some people might be nervous that McCain’s pick of the young, female Alaska governor Sarah Palin could give Obama/Biden a run for their money, especially with all those “Hillary voters” still pissed off, but I’m not too worried.
Palin’s been governor for less then two years, and prior to that she was mayor of a town with a population of only 8,000. This basically means McCain is no longer able to attack Obama as being too inexperienced, which was really the only effective attack he had.
Of course, Fox News thinks she’s got plenty of foregin policy exprience, as Steve Doocey points out, “Alaska’s right next to Russia!!!”
There’s also the added bonus that Palin comes prepackaged with her own on going scandal. Apparently, she tried to get her sister’s ex-husband, a state trooper, fired during an ugly divorce and heated custody battle over their kids. When the trooper’s boss wouldn’t fire him, she fired the boss! That’s corruption we can believe in!
If anything, I’m glad she’s his pick. I can’t wait to see her go up against Biden’s 30 years of experience in the VP debates.
