Oh I forgot to mention that I had fantastic time in New York City when I went down a few weeks ago for the Siren Fest. I saw a bunch of great bands and met up with my ol’ friend Dan Goscombe, who was nice enough to let me crash on his couch and show me a few of his favorite Brooklyn bars and eateries.
Continuing the precendent establish the last time I went to the Siren Fest and met Mark Ibold (bassist for Pavement) I once again ran into a few of the Indie Rock elite. This time I shared a subway with none other then Broken Social Scene (well, like 4 for them) on the way down to Coney Island. Of course I didn’t realize this until I saw them on stage that night closing out the festival, but it was neat in retrospect.
(Here’s some celeb gossip: Brendan Canning is a nice guy. He gave up his seat to a very young girl who was tired of standing.)
If you haven’t already, check out some of the photos I took over on flickr.
