Holy crap! The animotronic robot band from Showbiz Pizza/Chuck E Cheese’s playing Usher’s “Love In This Club.”
Apparently you can just go to the guy who invented these guys’ website and pay him to make a version of whatever song you want. He’s currently working on a version of Arcade Fire’s “Neighborhood #1.”
I remember once I was at a b-day party at Showbiz Pizza. We were all getting a little bit old for the place and at some point a bunch of us decided to jump on stage with the robots. I was still completely distraught to see that the gorilla wasn’t actually playing anything, there was just a black slab he was miming on. It was one of the most depressing things I had ever seen at the time. A little piece of my childhood died that day.
