I’m a huge fan of The Daily Show.  I really think that  Jon Stewart provides some of the sharpest and most insightful political commentary in America today. That’s why I was so disappointed with the way Stewart handled his interview with White House Press Secretary Dana Perino.  Usually Stewart does a great job of grilling his conservative guests, taking them to task and forcing them to actually back up their talking points.  But instead of doing that here Stewart just bullies Perino for 8 1/2 minutes; taking cheap shots at her by asking her dumb and heavily biased questions she couldn’t possibly answer well, just for some quick laughs.  I know this woman’s job is to bullshit and spin for the president, but I feel like he really wasted an opportunity to actually have a meaningful discussion with a member of the White House.  I know there is a good chance she might have come across just as retarded if Stewart had asked her thoughtful questions, but he doesn’t even give her the chance here.
