“In 1847, Terminus became Atlanta. In 1864, Atlanta became ashes. After  Sherman’s march, a bunch of Atlantans became madder than hell (some  still are). They made a seal of the city to mark those years. And since  1865, Atlanta has made up for most all it lost. When you crest the last  hill headed in from the west, you’ll see the skyscrapers reaching, like a  phoenix, northward into the Southern sky.”
